Since 1979, Algiz Haven has helped people learn, grow, rebuild, and reconnect.
We began as a small family-run community initiative offering practical help to people facing hardship.
Over the decades, we have expanded into a multi‑disciplinary organisation providing skills training, wellbeing programs, trauma‑informed support, education, poverty alleviation and community development.
Our purpose is simple: to help people strengthen their lives, their confidence, and their futures.
We work with individuals, families, community groups, NGOs, businesses, and government departments. Our training programs are designed to be accessible, inclusive, and grounded in real‑world experience.
Algiz Haven is committed to long‑term social impact. All profits support our future affordable‑housing and community‑wellbeing initiatives, ensuring that every program contributes to a safer, more connected community.
All programs help to fund this proposed housing project which will include all of those programs on-site for the residents and surrounding community.
Our Logo
Algiz Haven: Named for the Norse rune ᛉ Algiz (meaning protection & sanctuary), honouring our founders` Nordic heritage and the ancient Nordic tradition of communal villages that sheltered the vulnerable., provided protection, community, mutual care, and a safe place to belong, in small villages where people looked after one another through harsh winters and difficult times.
We chose a basic outline of a house to represent the home that everyone needs and inserted the Algiz rune inside it to symbolise safety and protection of the home and people living in it.
A home is more than a building. It is where someone feels safe, where they belong.
Housing is a basic human right. That was agreed upon at the United Nations in 1948 in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
