Room to breathe. Room to live. Room to belong.
Since 1979, Algiz Haven has helped people learn, grow, rebuild, and reconnect.
We began as a small family‑run community initiative offering support, skills, and a sense of belonging to people navigating difficult times. Over the decades, we have grown into a multi‑disciplinary organisation grounded in creativity, emotional wellness, cultural connection, and trauma‑informed practice.
Today, Algiz Haven is evolving into a global network of community homes — gentle, welcoming places in rural towns around the world where visitors and locals share creativity, culture, and everyday life.
Our purpose is simple: to help people strengthen their lives, their confidence, and their futures through creativity, connection, and community.
Our Approach
We work with individuals, families, artisans, musicians, farmers, community groups, NGOs, businesses, and government departments. Our programs are designed to be accessible, inclusive, and grounded in real‑world experience.
Each Haven is built in partnership with rural communities. Local families, craftspeople, and cultural practitioners are central to the experience and are paid fairly for their time and skills.
Visitors participate in daily life, learn local crafts, share music and creativity, and reconnect with themselves through gentle, trauma‑informed practices.
This is not tourism. This is connection.
Core Guide: Emotional Wellness
Our emotional‑wellness arm, Core Guide, provides:
- grief support

- online courses
These programs support guests before, during, and after their stay — and are available worldwide.
Human Rights in Everyday Language
Algiz Haven integrates simple, plain‑language human‑rights literacy into its programs.
No legal jargon. No politics. No religion.
Just:
- respect
- safety
- boundaries
- kindness
- responsibilities
- dignity
- understanding each other
This helps visitors and locals build trust and communicate safely.
Our Logo
Algiz Haven is named for the Norse rune ᛉ Algiz, meaning protection and sanctuary. It honours our founders’ Nordic heritage and the ancient tradition of communal villages that sheltered the vulnerable, offered mutual care, and provided a safe place to belong.
We chose a simple outline of a house with the Algiz rune inside it to symbolise safety, dignity, and the feeling of home.
A home is more than a building. It is where someone feels safe — where they belong.

Global Vision
Algiz Haven is preparing partnerships with rural communities and governments around the world. We do not announce locations until each Haven is officially confirmed.
Our vision is global. Our heart is local. Our mission is human.
